What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Log Files

Rhythm ‘n’ Cuddles follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analysing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Web Beacons

Rhythm ‘n’ Cuddles uses ‘cookies’ like any other websites. Cookies are small text store by your computer. They are bits of information about your interactions with the website. These cookies are used to store information including visitors’ preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users’ experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors’ browser type and/or other information.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to provide you the best online experience. Google Analytics is a service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic.

Google compile data about your activity on our website. In certain occasion, they might transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where these third parties process the data on behalf of Google.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Newsletter

We displayed a newsletter form on our website to collect name and email address.

We use a third-party called Mailchimp to collect email address. It’s an American marketing automation platform and an email marketing service.The purpose of the newsletter is to communicate with subscribers regarding news or offers. An email is sent out once a month or eventually twice a month. It is possible to opt-out at any time. A link for the purpose is available at the bottom of each email received from us.

Consent form on a venue:

Prior to start the class, we ask all parents to complete a form as part of our Health and Safety, Data Protection and Safeguarding procedures.

Rhythm ‘n’ Cuddles will use the data supplied on this form for the purposes of administering information about class participants. Such data may be made available to other teachers and substitutes who reasonably need to know this information. We will keep this data for up to one year from the day you started the classes.

Under the General Data Protection Regulations (May 2018), you are entitled to request access to the information held by Rhythm ‘n’ Cuddles and to request that it is updated or deleted once it is no longer required.

In order to do this, please contact Mafê Toledo, the owner of Rhythm ‘n’ Cuddles with your access or deletion request.

Children’s Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

Rhythm ‘n’ Cuddles does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
